4th February, 2012

Another fun filled day. Though the temperatures dropped, our excitement soared. We skied in the morning .It was great fun. We returned to our chalet and had lunch. After lunch, we hit the slopes again. We are all now skiing without difficulty and enjoying the experience. It was amazing going up on the chairlift and skiing down the slopes.

After our return we had our class. We did English and then watched a documentary on plants and trees that grow in the Alps.It was very interesting .The students asked many questions and were very involved and participative.

We have another busy day tomorrow. Loads of things to do. We will keep you posted with our latest adventures.

Sunday, 5th February, 2012

What a happening day. In the morning we went to 1650 meters to buy our souvenirs and gifts. It was a beautiful and sunny day. It was great to see the sun! We enjoyed our shopping experience. We treated ourselves to hot chocolate and waffles. It was absolutely delicious. After our snack we had a ball of a time sliding down the slopes on our “sleds”.

We returned to our chalet and had lunch. After lunch we went for our ski lesson. We had a fantastic time. Time seems to be flying! After our return from the ski lesson we had our snack and our shower. In the evening we had our class. We did Math and wrote in our journals.

In about an hour we will be going for dinner and then to our “boum”.We are looking forward to that. It will be fun.

Monday, 6th February, 2012

We started our day with breakfast. We had a ball of a time yesterday evening. The party was great. This morning right after breakfast we went to our classrooms. We had math and English lessons. After lunch we had our ski lessons. It was a nice, clear,cold and sunny day. We have made tremendous progress. We are so proud of ourselves. We came back to our chalet and had snack and shower.

In the evening we have a very interesting class about how rescue operations take place in snow. We already have many questions in our mind that we will be asking.

Tuesday, 7th February, 2012

Another exciting day! We woke up this morning and after breakfast mounted on an amazing adventure. We met our guide Christophe who briefed us on what we were going to be doing. We were to wear these special racket shaped shoes and walk in the snow. We took the bus and went to 1650meters.At La Madeline we got off the bus and put on our snow racket (shoes).We took a walk down the forest. We learned many things about the forest life and animals which live there. We asked our guide many questions and he answered well. He was very impressed with our enthusiasm.

We came back to our chalet thrilled by our walk. We had lunch and went skiing. We are doing so well and are so proud of ourselves. After our ski lessons we had our snack and shower. And then it was time to go to our class. We did some English, Math and wrote in our journals. In a while we will be going for dinner. We are looking forward to our session after dinner. There is a storyteller coming to the chalet, who will be narrating stories to us. We are happy to have a relaxing evening.

We are now nearing the end of our incredible journey. It has been a great learning experience for all of us. We will be reporting to you about our last day in this cold but beautiful part of the world tomorrow evening.

Wednesday, 8th February, 2012

A very amazing last day. We started our day with breakfast and then went to our classroom. We had a very interesting class on ARVA(Appareil de Recherche de Victimes d’Avalanches).We were told different ways of identifying and rescuing the victims of avalanches. After our class we went out and practiced what we had learned. It was excellent. We came back to our classrooms where we did some work.

After lunch, we went to our last session of skiing. It has been fun and a wonderful learning experience. We hope to continue practicing our newly acquired skill. After skiing we got very busy packing our suitcases. In the evening we had a ceremony where we all received our ski “etoiles”.Our teachers, monitors and above all we are very proud of ourselves.

In a few hours we will be going to bed as we will be leaving early for the airport. This has been an amazing experience for us. We have explored, discovered and experienced many different things. We are looking forward to sharing our adventures with you all.

CM2 in France

We arrived in Geneva on Tuesday, 31st January,2011.We were welcomed at the airport by a blanket of snow. The students clapped as we landed and were super excited to see the snow.

After a little delay, our bus arrived at the airport. The journey from Geneva Airport to our station was exciting and pleasant. By the time we arrived at the station, some of the students we were tired but couldn’t wait to get into their ski gear. After a little snack and shower we went to try out our ski equipment.Oh! What an exciting moment for all of us. The students were busy and energized while trying out their equipment. After a delicious dinner, we all hit the bed and called it a night!!

Wednesday 1st February

was a day full of fun, adventure and learning. We started our day with breakfast and then went out to see snow. The students loved it. It was an amazing day with sun shinning mildly. The students did different activities in the snow and the returned to the classroom where they were briefed about the station. After another delicious lunch the moment came for which we had all been waiting for. Skiing!!The students went for skiing and had an amazing time. The monitors were extremely cordial and helpful. The students returned to the station and back in the classrooms where the saw a power point presentation on the animals which live in this part of the world. This was followed by games and activities. We then had dinner and returned to our classroom where we played different educational games.

Thursday, 2nd February, 2012.

We started our day with our breakfast. Then we took the bus to visit the different ski stations. We were at an altitude of 1650 meters!!!!We saw the different mechanics that the ski stations used. We had a great time exploring and asking questions.

We came back to our chalet and had our lunch. And then we all went skiing! We can now ski without any difficulty. We had a great and wonderful time.

We are all enjoying ourselves and looking forward to another great day tomorrow.

A very warm hello from the mountains!

Another day full of adventure, fun, research and learning. We woke up this morning and saw the snowfall. It was a breath catching sight. It was very cold but we were all well covered. We started our day with breakfast and then headed straight to our classroom. We learned about snow and avalanches. The students watched a documentary on the subject. We all then went out and did experiments in the snow. It was an amazing experience for all of us. After lunch we all hit the ski slopes. The students did a great job skiing. We had a wonderful time skiing on the slopes with our extremely fantastic monitors.

Later we went back to our classroom where we did English and continued with our lesson on snow and avalanches. We watched a power point presentation which was followed by a question and answer session. We have so much to share with everyone when we return to Bahrain.

What an amazing day. Looking forward to more hours of skiing tomorrow.
